Combine twenty-five years experience in the high school classroom, a razor sharp wit and a talent for telling compelling, yet humorous stories in the vein of Girl Meets World and The Thundermans, and you have the up-and-coming writer who is Eric Walters. I hope to be the voice of the future of sitcoms.
My hope is that my first pilot, The Chandler Academy Breakfast Club, will be a smashing hit! The show follows the adventures of four high school teachers and four high school students who meet daily for breakfast at Chandler Academy, a private school overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, CA.
With smart sophisticated characters who seek to “challenge, shape and change the world” with both determination and enthusiasm, CABC (its common abbreviation) will also seek to develop storylines submitted by viewers through scial media. CABC seeks to be Boy Meets World for both a new generation of both parents and children, of both teachers and students..
Look for Eric’s footprint to grow as he develops an animated, companion webseries called “Chandler Academy Wake Up Show” which features short form versions of the main series.
So where did this new talent come from? A high school science teacher and graduate of the UCLA Writer’s Program, Eric has always had a talent for making people laugh, although, as he readily admits, not everyone thinks what I say is funny! An amateur writer, Eric decided to turn professional after being motivated by a drive through the gates of Paramount Studios last summer. “It was truly a transformative experience for me, as cheesy as that sounds. But its when I knew I had to go public with my writing!” Eric stated in a recent interview with the staff of his school’s student newspaper.
